2021 Southeast Summer Invitational Rules
The Southeast Summer Invitaional Tournament will be broken into divisions. Each team will play the other teams in their division.
Sunday's tournament play will turn to bracket play with a Championship Game held in each division.
All teams will play at least 4, full length games (*weather permitting*)
Seeding ties will be determined by the following criteria/tie-breakers: Head-to-Head, Goals Allowed, Goal Differential (7 goal max), Coin Flip.

All rules will be in accordance with modified US Lacrosse Standards for Youth Divisions (2030-2027) and 2026-2021 Divisions will play under NFHS rules as well. |
Divisions 2029 through HS A will player under the 20 Second/10 Second Clearing Rule – 20 seconds to clear the ball from your defensive end and 10 seconds to get a touch in the offensive box. |
21-minute running halves with a 3-minute halftime. |
Penalties: For Divisions 2030/31 and 2029 game play will stop when the ball hits the ground following a flag down. Penalties: For Divisions 2028 through HS A game play will continue in accordance with NFHS rules. |
Teams will receive 1 Timeout per Game – 1 minute duration, game-clock will not stop unless the start/stop (see next line) rule is in effect. |
Clock is start/stop under 1 minute in the second half if the score differential is two goals or less. If you call a timeout outside of 1 minute to play, the clock will stop at 1 minute. The game cannot end on a timeout. |
Referees will keep game time. Penalty time will be kept in the box. |
Penalty time is running time and time and a half. |
NO ONE HANDED CHECKS in the 2030/31 through 2027 Divisions. Action results in a technical foul and 45 second penalty. |
No long-poles on the field for 7v7 games. 2029 through HS Divisions are permitted up to 4 poles on the field at any time in accordance with NFHS and US Lacrosse rules. Please refer to stick length rules below. |
In the event of a tie, teams will play one continuous sudden victory overtime period. Teams will remain at the same end of the field where they finished the regulation play. No time-outs permitted in overtime. A 30-second break will be given before overtime. NO BRAVEHEARTS. After 4 minutes of overtime game play during Saturday pool play the game will end in a tie. Sunday bracket play games will continue until a winner has been determined. |
There are no mandatory stick checks. However, the head coach may request a stick check. If the stick is found to be legal, the challenging team will be charged a time out. If no timeout remains, a delay of game technical foul will be assessed. Sticks must meet NFHS standards. |
Decisions on the field are the final ruling. No disputes will be heard after the game. |
Any coach or player ejected from a game will not be allowed to participate in the remainder of the 2021 SEI Summer tournament. |
All teams must completely clean their sidelines following a game. |
Fouling Out: Any player who accumulates 4 personal fouls or 5 minutes in personal foul penalty time shall be disqualified from the game. Fighting, as determined by an official, is an automatic ejection from the game. |
Stick Length Rules will follow modified 2019 USL Crosse Length specifications:

Game Balls: Referees and Head Coaches will be alerted prior to the game that extra game balls will be located at the scorekeeper table should a ball be thrown or shot out of the field of play. The team's Head Coach can then request the table throw in a new game ball. |
